Qualified and experienced psychotherapist and counsellor - near Oxford Circus, London Bridge and Archway
Would you like to have the help of a professional who is there for you? Someone who is expertly trained and able to devote time and skill to your unique problems. Someone who is not involved in the dynamics of your family, work or friendship groups?
My name is Fionnuala O'Donnell and I offer psychotherapy and counselling to individuals who come to me for help. I provide a confidential place in which to talk and to explore emotions. A place to take time to think about who you are and what you want from life in a way that is often not possible in our day-to-day lives.
I work with people on a long or short-term term basis, to suit the unique needs of each individual. Confidentiality is absolutely assured. I work with clients from a wide range of backgrounds on issues such as depression, anxiety, bereavement, low self-esteem, career dilemmas, relationship issues and addiction, among many others. Many of my clients have moved to London from other countries and dealing with the issues that arise when we move our homes is an area that frequently arises in the work that I do.
Of course, a list such as that above might seem to suggest that issues present themselves clearly and individually, whereas the reality may be a complex web of problems or issues that we need to tackle.
I completed an extensive five year training at The Westminster Pastoral Foundation in London, one of the prime organisations for psychotherapists and counsellors in the UK. The training is known for its rigour and excellent clinical foundation. I also work in the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust where I provide long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy.
My private practice is located near Oxford Circus and also London Bridge,as well as Archway, all within easy reach of good transport links. I see clients during the day and in the evenings.
Feel free to get in touch. I appreciate how hard it can be to take that first step and how important it is for you to feel that you are working with the right person. For this reason, I offer an initial consultation where you can decide if the fit feels right for you. If we do decide to work together you can be sure of a compassionate and committed professional to help you on your journey. Psychotherapy can offer the relief of being heard and understood, sometimes for the first time. The relief of finding a place in which to explore thoughts and feelings in safety can be immense and life-altering. Psychotherapy takes time and commitment, and I will work together with you to make changes in your life. The journey we take when we explore our inner world in therapy can be exciting, and challenging, but is always worthwhile.
I work at Linen Hall near Oxford Circus on Mondays and near London Bridge and the city on Tuesdays. I can also see clients in Archway, North London.
